West Virginia earns an “A-” for Transparency in Government
Transparencywv.org received one of the highest possible rankings, an “A-”, for transparency in state government from the
United States Public Interest Research Group (U.S. PIRG).
This latest award stands in stark contrast to last year when the State received a failing grade in the U.S. PIRG’s first annual “Following the Money” report. For 2012, U.S. PIRG states
West Virginia showed the most improvement among states to,
"…become a leader in Transparency 2.0." In addition to U.S. PIRG, West Virginia recently received an "A-" from
the
Sunshine Review for transparency in State Government.
